Kick Cha Cop is Coming

Okay, kids, buckle up because this Thursday we’re kicking off production on Kick Cha Cop! (Yes, that’s the actual title, and no, we’re not changing it.) This little gem started as a short film—just something fun to keep a few of my Tulsa acting buddies busy. But, like all great ideas (like day drinking), it snowballed. Now, it’s a full-blown movie with an amazing cast, a killer crew, and enough 1980s nostalgia to fry your brain like an old CRT TV.

Seriously, check out the cast lineup. We’ve got Robert Peters (Ocean’s Eleven, Catch Me If You Can) playing Santino Santino (yes, his name is so good we said it twice), P.J. Sosko (Person of Interest, The Good Wife) as Tabernus, and Danny Boy O’Connor (The Outsiders House Museum) as Tony. And that’s just scratching the surface! There’s Kaye Brownlee-France as Scab, Lisa Fenimore as Donna Dee, Karsten Tate as Bella Maples, and even yours truly making a cameo as Officer Wrighter. Because I’m THAT good.

Now, let’s talk plot. Kick Cha Cop is a love letter—and a gentle roast—to all those glorious 1980s cop movies we grew up watching. You know the ones: slow-motion explosions, car chases that defy physics, and one-liners cheesier than a deep-dish pizza. It’s absurd, over-the-top, and absolutely hilarious. Think Lethal Weapon meets Hot Shots! meets your uncle’s questionable VHS collection.

And here’s the wild part: everyone is doing this for free. That’s right. This is a passion project in the truest sense. Our composer is crafting a pitch-perfect 80s-inspired score, the stunt crew is making sure every punch and pratfall is perfection, and the cast and crew are giving it their all because they believe in the vision. Or they just really love wearing aviator sunglasses. Either way, we’re making magic.

Honestly, the response from the Tulsa creative community has been incredible. There’s so much talent here, and it’s amazing to see everyone come together for this wild ride. It’s not just a movie; it’s a celebration of creativity, camaraderie, and bad cop puns.

So, stay tuned. I’ll be sharing behind-the-scenes pics, sneak peeks, and possibly some bloopers—because let’s face it, with a project like this, the outtakes might be just as entertaining as the final cut.

Thanks for joining me on this adventure. Let’s go make a movie that even an 80s action hero would be proud of!
